Principal’s Report – Jessica Te Moananui
Start of 2025 School Year
Dear School Community,
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the start of what promises to be an exceptional 2025 school year. I am delighted to report that our students and staff have seamlessly transitioned into the new term, establishing strong routines and fostering a positive learning environment. Our advantageous small class sizes have provided an ideal foundation, ensuring each student receives personalised support and attention.
We are privileged to have 14 dedicated SLSO support staff working across our 17 classes. Their expertise significantly enhances the educational experience, offering vital assistance to both students and teaching staff. Our educators have been engaging in thoughtful collaborative planning, meticulously analysing learning data to address each student's specific needs, thereby ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
I am particularly pleased to announce the launch of our High Potential and Gifted Education Program this term. This innovative initiative will nurture students who demonstrate exceptional abilities, providing them with opportunities to extend their learning in meaningful and challenging ways. Additionally, we are proud to have six outstanding students representing our school at the prestigious Allstars ICAS testing in Sydney, showcasing our commitment to academic excellence.
Our sports calendar has commenced with great enthusiasm! The swimming carnival was held last week alongside the district carnival, with 12 of our talented students competing—well done to all! Netball trials have generated tremendous interest, with Stage 2 and Stage 3 teams now selected and scheduled to begin training next week in preparation for their competition on April 1st. Stage 2 will train on Tuesdays at lunchtime, while Stage 3 will train on Mondays at lunchtime. This past Tuesday, we had five dedicated students trial for the Riverina boys and girls basketball teams in Wagga. It's always inspiring to see our students pursuing opportunities in representative sports.
I would like to draw your attention to our upcoming Student-Led Conferences in Week 9. These valuable sessions provide an excellent opportunity for meaningful discussions about your child's progress and educational journey. Please note that all conferences will be conducted face-to-face. We have identified an error in our online booking system that incorrectly indicated these meetings would be online. All relevant information is available on the Sentral Parent Portal, with bookings having opened last Monday. We aspire to achieve 100% participation, as your engagement is instrumental to your child's success.
In conjunction with these conferences, our Student Representative Council (SRC) will host a fundraiser BBQ. I warmly invite you to attend, support our student leaders, and celebrate the strong sense of community that distinguishes our school.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school community. I look forward to collaborating with you throughout 2025 to create a year marked by growth, achievement, and success for all our students.
Kind regards,
Jessica Te Moananui
