Principal’s Report – Jess Te Moananui
Term 1, Week 9 - March 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,
NAPLAN Success
We're pleased to announce the successful completion of NAPLAN testing for our Year 3 and Year 5 students. The students approached these assessments with focus and determination, and we're proud of their efforts. Results will be provided to families when they become available.
Student-Led Conferences
Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our student-led conferences this week. We were delighted to see such high engagement as students shared their learning journeys with you. These conferences are valuable opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning and celebrate their achievements.
A special thank you to our Student Representative Council (SRC) for organising and running the BBQ during the conferences. Their initiative and service to our school community are greatly appreciated.
Upcoming Events
School Photo Day - Monday, March 31st (Week 10) Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their best uniform.
Netball Cup - Tuesday, April 1st (Week 10)
Primary Athletics Carnival - Friday, April 4th (Week 10) We're seeking parent volunteers to assist with events on the day. If you're available to help, please contact the front office.
PSSA Swimming (Week 11) Congratulations to Nate Williams who will represent our school.
Easter Hat Parade K-6 (Week 11)
Recognition Assembly - Friday 11th April (Week 11) We invite all parents to attend our Term 1 Recognition Assembly. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate student achievements across the term. We remind all students to hand in any teacher awards they've received so they can progress through our school award system. We look forward to seeing you there!
Uniform Update
Our newly elected P&C is exploring changes to our school shirts. We are currently gathering designs and materials, with a preference for navy shirts with light blue and white markings in a lighter, more breathable fabric.
Please note that any introduction of new shirts would be implemented gradually. Our 2026 Kindergarten students would have the option to purchase the new shirts, with a complete rollout occurring over a few years. The rest of the uniform would remain unchanged.
We will be seeking parent and community input throughout this process, so please watch this space for consultation opportunities.
P&C News
Congratulations to our newly elected P&C Executive:
- President: Mrs. Katelyn Thornhill-Weedon
- Vice President: Ms. Shelby Inwood
- Treasurer: Miss Alisha Carswell
The position of Secretary remains vacant. We encourage all parents to consider joining our P&C to share your voice in shaping the direction of our wonderful school.
Social Media Reminder
We've recently experienced some incidents at school stemming from students' device use outside of school hours. It's essential that parents monitor how children communicate on devices at home. Please review the flyer below for tips on appropriate social media use and discuss these guidelines with your children.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community.
Warm regards,
Jessica Te Moananui
